Meet One Of The Faces Behind Carefree Camping Rentals

I’m Lindsay Hoover, and along with my husband, Clay, we are the proud co-owners of Carefree Camping Rentals.

I look forward to sharing our story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know us better.

My husband and I love camping and exploring the great outdoors in Ontario and Canada’s East and West coasts. Therefore, we wanted to share the joys and benefits of camping with everyone by launching a camping gear and tent rental business.

We started our business in the spring of 2022. In this short period, people have already begun renting equipment well into the fall to take advantage of the mesmerizing Autumn colors. We are also excited to offer winter camping packages soon.

Due to the rising cost of living, individuals are looking for affordable alternatives to traditional “vacations.” Therefore, we proudly provide a cost-effective means to vacation with friends or family. We also encourage our clients to keep their receipts and submit them to the CRA for the 2022 Stay-cation tax credit.

Our vision is to offer the ultimate camping experience without the hassle of buying, cleaning, storing, replacing, or organizing all the gear. So, we offer quality, compact items to make camping carefree and enjoyable.

We work hard for our clients, and I believe what sets us apart is our honesty, integrity, and accountability. We also embrace change and are always looking for innovative ways to grow our organization and exceed customer expectations.

Feeling Of Belonging

Showing respect is essential to us, and we strive to create a culture of inclusiveness where everyone feels welcome. As a result, one of the best parts of our job is helping people new to Canada discover the beautiful gems of the country.

For example, six young new Canadians had never been camping before. They were hoping to rent tents from Algonquin Outfitters on their way to Algonquin Park, but they were running late.

So they called us in a panic, and we quickly put together gear for them in the space of forty-five minutes. On the way back, they dropped off the equipment with a thank-you gift, and each left five-star reviews on our Google business profile. It was rewarding to be a part of their first camping adventure!

When we’re not creating happy campers, my husband works full-time for an oxygen delivery company, and I’m an elementary school teacher on long-term disability leave. I have terminal cancer, so most of my non-work time is spent going to Princess Margaret in Toronto.

My brother also has autism, and he loves to go camping with us. Additionally, I’m passionate about advocating for the rights of neurodivergent and physically/ developmentally disabled adults.
